Georgia Small Business Week Announced Feb. 16th-20th
Governor Nathan Deal will proclaim the third week in February 2015 (February 16-20, 2015) as Georgia Small Business Week.
Kicking off the week will be the Small Business ROCK STARS awards luncheon jointly hosted by the Department of Economic Development and the Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA). Also many small business support activities will take place throughout the state.
Georgia defines a small business as one which is independently owned and operated and must have either fewer than 300 employees or less than $30 million in gross receipts per year.
With 99% of Georgia companies employing under 500, approximately 95% employ under 100. No small part of the state’s economic lifeblood, small businesses reflect Georgia’s entrepreneurial spirit and fuel job growth, as well as personal pride.
